Who we are

Helios Cambridge ("we", "us") builds solar design software for UK installers. We are the data controller for the personal data described on this page, which means we decide why and how it is used.

You can reach us at luke@helioscambridge.com for anything relating to your data.

What we collect

If you join our waitlist, we collect the email address you type into the form, along with which form you used and the date you submitted it.

That is all. We do not ask for your name, company, or phone number, we do not use advertising cookies, and we do not buy contact details from anyone else.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your email address for one purpose: to contact you about early access to Helios. That includes telling you when the product opens in your area, arranging a walkthrough if you want one, and occasional updates on how the build is going.

Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the waitlist form. You can withdraw it at any time — every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also just reply and ask.

We will not use your address for anything unrelated, and we will never sell it.

Who else sees it

We use two service providers who process your data on our behalf, under contracts that restrict them to acting on our instructions:

• Formspree — receives and stores waitlist form submissions before they reach our inbox.
• Vercel — hosts this website and processes standard server logs.

Beyond those, we do not share your details with anyone, other than where we are legally required to.

Where your data goes

Both providers above are based in the United States, so your email address is transferred outside the UK. These transfers are covered by the safeguards required under UK data protection law, through the data processing agreements we hold with each provider.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you ask us to delete it, or until 24 months after you join the waitlist if you have not become a customer in that time — whichever comes first. After that it is deleted from our records and from Formspree.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• have anything inaccurate corrected
• have your data deleted
• ask us to restrict or stop using it
• object to our use of it
• receive it in a portable format
• withdraw your consent at any time

To use any of these, email luke@helioscambridge.com. We will respond within one month, and it costs you nothing.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date below. If the change is significant and we hold your address, we will email you about it.
